2016 Beauty Favourites!

I don't know about you but I am so happy to have waved goodbye to 2016 and thrown myself head first into the adventures 2017 holds. So to see in the new year, it's time for a round-up of my absolute favourite products of the last twelve months, those I've found myself reaching for again and again and have repurchased more than once. Enjoy, and have a fabulous New Year!

Oskia Renaissance Cleansing Gel - I've been using this little gem for six months now (see original post here) and it was love at first cleanse. This vitamin-infused milky gel cleanser has worked wonders on my combination, blemish-prone skin, leaving it soft, smooth, clear, brightened, nourished and deeply cleansed. At £29.50 a pop it's a pretty pricey venture, but I have learned that when it comes to good skincare, it's worth paying for quality. I've already stocked up on my next bottle to take me into 2017, and this is one repurchase cycle I can't see being broken anytime soon.

Essie Gel Couture Nail Polishes - You might remember earlier in the year I called Holy Grail on Essie's new gel nail line, and the fact that this range is the only nail polish line I've included on my favourites list should tell you all you need to know about just how much I adore them. You can read my full review on these babies here but if you haven't picked any of these up yet, I'd definitely urge you to immediately. Gorgeous opaque colours, high-gloss finish and practically unchippable, these polishes are pretty much all I wear.

Mavala Nail Hardener - On the note of nails, I couldn't do a beauty favourites post without mentioning the only product that has ever, ever made my thin, fragile nails grow past the tip of my fingers. Simply apply this clear treatment to the tip of your nail a few times a week and go about your business for long, strong, amazing nails - that really is all there is to it! My full thoughts and before-and-after photos can be found here!

eSalon Gaining Strength Shampoo & At Full Strength Conditioner - A few months ago I discovered eSalon and have been obsessed with their products ever since. There were too many of their products to name here because I truly have been using a lot of them (maybe I'll write a post?), but this super nourishing duo has been a lifesaver for my damaged, over-processed hair recently.  The shampoo is sulfate-free and the conditioner is so smoothing, both leaving my hair silky soft and healthy. Seriously, if you haven't checked eSalon out yet I would get on it immediately!

Estée Lauder Double Wear Foundation - A classic for a reason, Double Wear will forever be the foundation I go back to time and time again. I did go through a stage with MAC Studio Fix Fluid, but Double Wear's heavy coverage and b-e-a-u-tiful finish will always keep me coming back for more. No white shadow in photos, no caking, no fading, wearing or oiliness - this foundation is The One.

Ben Nye Neutral Set Powder - I've tried countless setting powders over the years but none ever seemed to be quite what I was wanting, so when I finally found this translucent Ben Nye powder I thought all my Christmases had come at once! It is super fine, blends sooo easily and you only need the tiniest amount of product to produce a flawless, matte, airbrush-style finish. I wear this every day to set my makeup, and if I need some real staying-power I apply it more liberally for makeup that will. not. budge. Trust me!

Makeup Revolution Iconic Pro Palette - I'm a sucker for an eyeshadow palette, and this Lorac dupe has been my most reached for palette lately above any of my UD or MAC ones. It contains 8 mattes and 8 shimmers, each in a super generous pan and it also comes complete with a large mirror and surprisingly good double-ended brush. Most of the shades have great colour payoff and there are so many looks that can be created with this palette that I'll struggle to get bored - at least until I buy the Pro Palette 2 anyway...

Viktor & Rolf Bonbon EDP - Okay, if you haven't smelled this perfume, do yourself a favour and have a spritz! This was a very welcome gift from my lovely boyfriend and I have been obsessed with it ever since. I always loved Flowerbomb but Viktor & Rolf have surpassed themselves with this fruitier, zestier and in my opinion more fun fragrance. It has quite a rich scent that lingers for ages and I get compliments every time I wear it - it's just one of those fragrances people can't help but be drawn to. And just look at that bottle! This one's a keeper (oh, and the boyfriend's not bad either)!

YSL Rouge Volupté Shine Lipstick in "Pink in Confidence" - I recently wrote a full rave review of this beauty here, where I shared with you my complete obsession with this lipstick. It is the most gorgeously flattering nude/pink and it gives your lips a beautiful sheen without being too shiny or glittery. I have been wearing this as my absolute go-to lipstick for the last few months and I don't see me putting it back in the acrylic storage in the near future!

Kiehl's Skin Rescuer - Touted as a "stress-minimising daily hydrator", this lightweight lotion really packs a punch on tired, lacklustre skin. I use this every morning and I have noticed such a huge difference - my skin is perkier, more glowing and all signs of redness and fatigue are gone! Often, "rescuing" treatments like this can exacerbate oiliness, but this works wonders even on my combination, blemish-prone skin and doesn't clog pores at all. Just what I needed!

Alpha-H Liquid Gold - My other "skin rescuer", this toner is a cult product for a reason. The glycolic acid treatment works to renew skin by stimulating cells, promoting repair and boosting collagen and elastin levels. I use this most nights and my blemished skin has improved tenfold - even my slight scarring and pigmentation have all but disappeared! This is now my ultimate go-to product for glowing, even, fresh skin perfection - super-sized bottle, here I come!

I'd love to see your beauty favourites so get sharing! :)

  1. The YSL lipsticks are one of my favourites! I've been meaning to buy a lighter shade from the range as the one I own is too bright for most days and Pink in Confidence looks lovely! And I hear everyone raving about the Viktor & Rolf perfume, so I think I need to go and check what it's all about! :)

  3. ThisSwiss Movement Rolex datejust provides a great case with well-preserved lugs,The Rolex Replica Watch silver dial doesn’t exhibit any major defects, and every one of its lume dots can be found and whole, with Datejust Replica Watch similar patina as around the hands. The folded Louis Vuitton Handbag Jubilee bracelet is within great condition, also it might actually be original towards the bags because it seemed to be created in 1969. This can be a Valentino handbags that does definitely not seem like it’s 47 years of age, and wears superbly around the hands.
