Review: YSL Rouge Volupté Shine Lipstick in "Pink in Confidence"

You know when you put off buying a product for ages for fear of it not quite being as good as the price tag/rave reviews/Instagram tags/Carol from work suggests? Well, the YSL Rouge Volupté Shine Lipsticks have been a bit like that for me, forcing myself away from the counter in Selfridges with a heavy heart and a what-if feeling every time I passed until finally, finally a few months ago I caved...and discovered perhaps my favourite lipstick in the process.

Pamper Sunday: Atlantavive Ocean Oak Bath Soak

I've always loved the idea of treatment baths, be it mud, clay or seaweed, so when Atlantavive got in touch to tell me about their raw, natural seaweed bath, I jumped at the chance to give it a go. Granted, it is quite an odd thing floating in a bath full of seaweed, but boy does it feel therapeutic!

Review: Essie Gel Couture Nail Colour

I'm not actually crazy into nail polishes, as I normally get super frustrated with their rubbish formulas and end up removing it to avoid the faff, but I was recently sent some of the new Essie Gel Couture range and I've been hooked ever since! I genuinely cannot fault this formula, and have already been out to buy 2 more to add to my collection. Definite Holy Grail material right here!

Review: Mavala Nail Hardener

It's not often I do this, but guys, I'm calling Holy Grail status on this little baby! As someone who has suffered my whole life from soft, flaky nails that struggle to grow past the top of my finger, I have used every strengthener, fortifier and hardener on the market, none of which to much avail. Mavala's offering, however, is a thing of magic...

Through the Mailbox #3

I thought I'd share with you a few purchases and bits I've been sent recently and have been obsessing over ever since. This was a great week or two for adding new skincare to my arsenal, and I think I've found my Holy Grail nail polishes too!

Review: Crystal Clear Microdermabrasion Facial

If you've been reading my blog lately, you'll know I've been struggling with hormonal, problem skin. I have managed to get a handle on it for the most part (see A Lesson in Skincare), but due to hormonal fluctuations, I do still get blemishes and also am harboring a few fine lines *sob*. Anyway, the girl who does my brows recommended the Crystal Clear facial to me after hearing me complain about my unruly skin, and I must say, I'm a hooked already!

Review: Dr Zak's Protein Bagels

If you follow me on Twitter (@LucysBeautyBlog - shameless plug), you'll know I've been focusing on improving my nutrition and working out as much as possible. I try to eat 140g of protein per day, though this can be quite difficult to achieve, especially since I don't eat meat for the most part, so when Dr Zak's got in touch to let me try their new Protein Bagels, with a hefty 24g protein per serving, I had to see what all the fuss was about.

Review: Bioderma Hydrabio Eau de Soin SPF30

I'm all for sun protection - safety first guys, listen to your mothers! - and when Bioderma, a brand I trust with my skin, recently released Hydrabio SPF30, I was taken in by the nifty spray bottle and promises of all-day hydration and rushed out to buy it pretty much straight away.

Re-Wire your Wire!

Celebrating the launch of the Ideal Beauty wireless bra by Playtex, I was challenged to re-purpose those nasty old bra wires into something of beauty. Say goodbye to the uncomfortable metal prods of old, and hello to new fabric constructions to enable the same support and lift you're accustomed to, but without the occasional poking!

Through the Mailbox: A Whole Lot of Decléor!

It's been a little minute since I last posted a Through the Mailbox, but I got so excited about this purchase that I just had to share it with you guys. I was actually searching for only one of these Decléor products, when I saw that QVC had the whole set on offer for just a few pounds more - how could I possibly have resisted?

OOTD: JD Williams Joanna Hope Layered Maxi Dress

Do my eyes deceive me or is it finally sunny outside?! In the UK, we get so little sun that I love to make the most of it when the sun rears its' happy face, so out go the jeans and jackets of old and in fly the maxi dresses and sandals. Speaking of maxi dresses - how gorgeous is this little beauty from JD Williams?

Pamper Sunday: A Lesson in Skincare

Lately, my skin has suffered drastically; where I once had a fresh, clear face I developed uneven, blemished, hormonal skin. And it was upsetting. Makeup wouldn't apply properly and I couldn't cover it well enough despite using my highest coverage concealers. However, a few changes and a couple of weeks later and I'm on top of it again. Here's what I've learned...

Review: Wella Luxe Oil Reconstructive Elixir

For as long as I can remember, I've been on a quest to find the perfect product to tame my unruly frizzy, wavy hair - from conditioners to creams to oils, I've tried them all, some with good results and some not so much. But I've never found that perfect product, the one you keep repurchasing because you just can't do without it...until I found Wella Luxe Oil!
