Review: Roger & Gallet Gingembre Rouge Sorbet Body Lotion

Having tried two products from Roger & Gallet before - their orange-scented dry oil (here) and juicy hydrating shower gel (here) - I had high hopes when I was sent a refreshing body lotion from their new Gingembre Rouge range. It's safe to say it has not disappointed since after my first use I was well and truly hooked!

Formula-wise, this 95% natural body lotion is paraben-free, suitable for normal-dry skin and offers effective 24 hour hydration. Containing pomegranate oil and aloe vera, it manages to moisturise my sensitive skin without any of the redness or stinging caused by other fragranced body lotions, which is a huge selling point for me since I enjoy a nice scent in my body products but they can often be too irritating. Absorbing within seconds, the lotion is light and fresh, cooling and soothing the skin as it sinks in. The effect is soft, smooth, hydrated skin without a hint of stickiness!

Okay, now onto the scent, since it is the winning feature of this lotion. Oh my, where to start! On first application it is highly fragranced, dissipating after a while into a more subtle air of scent, but it is so delicious that you'll want to get the spray too to keep the scent lingering all day! Please take my word for this - this body lotion smells insaaaaaaanely good. Now, I'm no good at describing scents (who is, really?), but it has an exotic fruity feel to it with a hint of spice, all whilst remaining sensual and feminine. Think late nights in Zanzibar and you're on the right track - basically, imagine what Princess Jasmine smells like. No? Just me? Okay.

Available to buy at M&S, the Gingembre Rouge range also includes a perfume spray and shower gel, as well as a gorgeously presented gift set (which I certainly wouldn't say no to, FYI). I love that this lotion comes complete with a pump, making application as easy as possible, whilst the bottle itself is genuinely so pretty that I keep it out on display in my bathroom! This is one that's truly worth every penny.

Have a nice day, lovelies!
