Review: Timeless Truth Charcoal Detox Brightening Mask

You know I'm committed to my blog if I'm willing to post a big scary picture of myself with a cloth face mask on! But this one is totally worth it, as this little baby provides the perfect pampering treat for my skin with tons of amazing benefits.

So, now we're all over the shock of that photo, let me tell you about the Charcoal Detox Brightening Mask. As opposed to a regular clay or peel-off mask, this one uses a Timeless Truth Functionality Cloth, which is infused with a black powder made from bamboo charcoal extract, and is very absorbent and deep-cleansing. The effect is to brighten the skin by preventing dark pigments and freckles, as well as smoothing, firming and offering tons of hydration. As it contains antioxidants and vitamin E, it is perfect for use on congested skin or for those who live in polluted areas.

The mask itself is essentially a cloth which is soaked in a silky-feeling serum-like substance, and has cut-outs for your eyes and slits to fit the contours of your face. As you can see in the photo, I hadn't mastered application perfectly, but my second application was a lot better - it's easier if you place it on your face from the chin and press it on upwards. It sticks to your skin suprisingly easily and feels incredibly cool and refreshing on your face. Having led in the bath with the mask on for 20 minutes, I simply removed it and rubbed the excess serum into my face, which absorbed quickly and left no stickiness at all!

I have some pigmentation on my skin, particularly on my chin, which is one of my largest skin problem areas and something I've always tried to reduce - sadly, to no avail. I also enjoy a good detox regularly to ensure my skin is deeply cleansed and kept in tip-top condition, so this mask was the best option for me from the wide range available on the website (worth checking out, by the way - link above!). I must say, I'm really pleased with the results of the mask after both applications, as it left my skin feeling squeaky clean, soothed and refreshed. By the next day, the few blemishes I had were almost completely healed and the overall look of my skin was healthy, bright and uplifted. Even better, I did notice some slight improvement in my pigmentation, and I think I might continue to see good results if I continue to use this mask. Overall, I'd say it's a good mask for a good price, and you can't wish for more than that!

What are your favourite face masks?

    1. Haha it is quite strange! It was a nice cooling feel when it was on and I loved rubbing the serum in when you peel it off - really satisfying! Xx
