Review: InstaNatural Scar Gel

Having a few scars here and there, I've tried a fair few treatments to fade them to no avail, so when the lovely people at InstaNatural sent me a bottle of their Scar Gel to test, I was more than happy to oblige...and I've been able to wave goodbye to some of the little pests already!

InstaNatural Scar Gel / £50 £22.95 for 30ml

I'd never heard of InstaNatural before my correspondence with them, but I'm glad I have now as they stock loads of great skincare products that I can't wait to try - and if they're anything like the Scar Gel, I'm in for a treat! As you may have guessed, it is a fairly thick brown-coloured gel that works to diminish the appearance of both old and new scars. It contains loads of lovely ingredients to heal the skin, provide it with antioxidants and restore it to its natural state, and can be used on surgical scars, acne scars, burns and dark spots.

Application couldn't be easier, as the gel glides onto the skin and a little goes a rather long way. You just rub it in over the scarred areas morning and evening and watch it disappear, although it does leave an almost-imperceptible stickiness for an hour or so following application despite claiming not to. I love that the product is suitable for all skin tones and types, including sensitive skin which is ideal for my intolerant skin as I've found no irritation at all using this. The formula contains no parabens, sulfates or alcohols, and it truly feels like a high quality product.

I've used the Scar Gel day and night on two different scars for just over one month now and I have seen a demonstrable difference in their appearance - they seem to have blurred and faded away to the extent that they are no longer noticeable at all. They've not disappeared completely, but they have been diminished to a significant amount (how I wish I'd taken photos - naughty blogger!). Now, I can't speak for its effectiveness against any darker, more noticeable scars as mine were fairly small, but it didn't take long at all to see the results so I can imagine it can help to "blur" more significant scars too. It's certainly the best product I've used to tackle my scarring, making it worth the fairly hefty price tag.

What are your thoughts on the InstaNatural Scar Gel?
