Review: Blistex MedPlus Lip Balm

Review: Vichy Idéalia Eye Contour Idealiser Cream

Vichy's Idéalia line is one I'm familiar with, having tried, tested and written rave reviews for the Smoothing Cream (here), Life Serum (here) and BB Cream (here), so when the newest addition, the Eye Cream, landed in my mailbox, I knew I would love it.

One thing that all makeup enthusiasts learn to understand in time is that a primer makes all the difference to your makeup, so finding the right one is essential. Laura Mercier Foundation Primer has reached cult status within the beauty community lately, and for good reason.

FOTD: Barbie Pink Lips!

My outfit for work today was black and white so I wanted to add a pop of colour - and what better way than bright Barbie pink lips?

Review: Bioderma Sensibio H20

I picked up a bottle of Bioderma Sensibio H20 from Escentual while the pump bottles were on offer, and it has fast become a staple in my skincare routine (see my current skincare routine post here) for removing makeup quickly and leaving my skin super clean.

My Current Skincare Routine!

Skincare is a huge part of my life; if my skin is bad, I feel bad. So I make sure that I always have the best products that work for my skin, which involves a lot of trial and error, but it has paid off and my current routine has shown amazing results. For the first time in many years, my routine has become streamlined and I use the same products for day and night!

Top 10 Beauty Products Tag!

I love a good tag post, and this one came to me courtesy of the lovely Juliana Grace. Here are my top 10 products...

Review: Vaseline Healthy Hands & Stronger Nails Cream

It is so important for your hands to be cared for properly as they show the early signs of ageing, but they are often neglected. Until recently, I let my hands become neglected too, until I discovered this Vaseline hand cream that actually makes me want to apply it!

The Indie Chicks Giveaway Entry: My Goal

The Indie Chicks, Queens of inspiration and self-empowerment are hosting a giveaway aimed at helping you achieve your goals (for details, read this post), the prize being the opportunity to be promoted on their website via their new Discover Feed! Amazing, right?

So, I thought I'd tell you about my current goal, which is to become completely satisfied with my blog, in terms of readership, content and layout. I absolutely love blogging; there is nothing that appeals to me more than testing products, taking and editing photos, writing up reviews and making wishlists all for the benefit of my readers. However, I am currently in a blogging slump and want to add a fresh coat of paint to my blog, so to speak.

Of course these are subjective goals which are difficult to measure, but there are three things I can aim to achieve which will massively increase my satisfaction with my blog;

1. Increase readership - I have already begun to make my social media presence better by engaging my readers on Twitter, but I can also vary the type of blog posts I write, and take part in more blogger tags and events. I can't wait to do this, and I know that a larger audience will mean I can engage more with my readers. Yay!

2. Improve content - this means more varied content, so more focus on fashion and lifestyle rather than just beauty. I am also learning better photo editing techniques and aim to make my photos look more "shiny", as this is a huge part of making your blog amazing, in my opinion.

3. Makeover my layout - I do actually like most parts of my layout, particularly the clean white background and letting the photos add the colour, but I would like to jazz it up a little with things like follow buttons and perhaps changing my header font, etc. This will just mean that I love my layout and get so much more blog satisfaction!

I have already started to work on some of my goals and I know that I'll achieve them all soon, but I would like to thank The Indie Chicks for actually giving me the push to make this post. I'd love to see your goals!

One Box to Rule Them All

Having called time on my various beauty box subscriptions months ago following disappointment and hoards of unused beauty samples, I had given up on the idea altogether until I discovered My Little Box, a French subscription box which has made its way over to the UK and is now set to be my favourite monthly treat!

Giftspiration: Q&A a Day Journal!

First up in my gift guide is a rather universal gift that is also rather thought-provoking and more special than a £10 gift card (we've all been there)!

Review: Mel Millis Phytonutri Qi Energising MM Face Peel

When I heard Mel Millis was launching the organic Phytonutri Qi range, I couldn't wait to try one of the four products (see here for my reaction), and I must say the Energising MM Face Peel has not left me disappointed.

The Game-Changer: Lash Perm & Tint!

My eyelash history is short and sad; I have long lashes but they were always pale, poker straight and wouldn't curl as well as I'd like with even the best curlers and mascaras. However, my lash-envy spurred me on to find a solution that was more viable (and natural) than falsies, and boy did I hit the jackpot!

Review: Real Techniques Blush Brush

Until recently, blush wasn't a huge priority for my everyday makeup, but when buying the gorgeous Sleek Blush By 3 Palette in Pumpkin (see here) I knew I had to up my brush game, so I picked up this little gem. Spoiler: it is uh-may-zing!

Beauty News: A Nail Polish to Detect Date Rape Drugs!

Four amazing students from North Carolina State University have invented an incredible clear nail polish that could potentially save your life!

This ingenious polish - named Undercover Colors - does away with the need to carry test strips with you (which I know most of us don't!), and simply changes colour when you dip a finger into a drink that contains Rohypnol or GHB, both date rape drugs, to alert you to their presence! Personally, I couldn't be more happy that this nail polish has been created, and I will certainly be stocking up on these babies for me and my friends!

Review: Halo Eye Makeup Remover Pads

Although I try my best to remove my eye makeup properly every night, recently at University we had a solid week of end-of-year parties and I knew at the end of the nights I would need something simple and quick to remove my makeup, so I picked up this little pack of remover pads from Halo.

Glamour Beauty Edit Box!

The only magazine I subscribe to and read regularly, and have done since I was around 13, is Glamour Magazine, which is always full of amazing editorials, fashion and beauty, so it follows that I would grab the opportunity to purchase a beauty box packed full of products picked by Glamour's lovely beauty editor with both hands.

Review: Benefit Fine One One Lip & Cheek Colour

We all love a cheek colour to add some dimension to your face and brighten up your complexion, but sometimes it can be a bit of a faff to apply it perfectly, so I knew when Benefit released their all-in-one brightening blush, highlighter and lip colour it would be a winner for me.

Review: La Roche-Posay Physiological Cleansing Milk

When this cleansing milk came through my door, I was slightly concerned that it would not work on my combination skin due to being aimed at makeup removal for dry skin. However, I was very pleasantly surprised with the results.

Review: Vichy Idéalia Smoothing & Illuminating Cream

Review: Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair II

I had promised myself since I was around thirteen years old that once I turned 21, I would add Estée Lauder's world-renowned ANR to my skincare arsenal in order to reap the rewards of its super effective, skin perfecting formula to prevent wrinkles. Obviously at the time I thought 21 was really old (ha!), but I stuck to my word and tried it out nevertheless...

I've been using the Avon Solutions Hydra Beyond Cream for around a month now, and I have a confession to make - I've fallen truly, madly, deeply for it! Used as a day or night cream, the gel formula is perfect for my combination skin, meaning this product has earned a permanent place in my skincare cabinet.

Review: Roger & Gallet Bois d'Orange Huile Sublime Dry Oil Spray

It's no secret I'm a fan of a dry oil, but throw in a gorgeous bottle, a delicious scent and a light and hydrating texture, and you've got a multi-tasking dream for face, body and hair!

Review: La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo

La Roche-Posay's Effaclar Duo has been hailed in the beauty world as the product to heal and prevent blemished skin, and since purchasing it months ago it has become a firm staple in my skin routine and I would go so far as to call Holy Grail! That's right, this baby has reached the elusive HG status for this blogger, and I will not be looking back.
