Review: Vichy Idéalia Life Serum

So I'm back after a hiatus for getting back into my Uni routine, and I thought what better way to mark my return than to talk about a product that has been a lifesaver to my skin recently following late nights and early mornings.

I love a serum as much as the next beauty addict, but after trying the Vichy Idéalia BB Cream and loving it (review here), I just had to try the Vichy Idéalia Life Serum. The aim of the serum is to combat signs of a busy lifestyle on your skin, by brightening, renewing and protecting it. Essentially, it is a great night's sleep in a bottle. It can be used with any skin type, even sensitive; mine is combination and I've found it to work perfectly, with no excess oiliness.

I have found this little beauty to do everything it claims to, and although I don't use it religiously every morning and night, I do use it after long nights or on an early morning to perk up my face, and I am safe in the knowledge that there will be no signs of tiredness in my skin. Basically, it is the skincare equivalent to a Berocca, with tons of skin-loving ingredients like LR2412 and LHA (no, I don't know either, but apparently they are repairing and brightening ingredients).

The texture is lovely and light, kind of a mix between a lotion and a gel in consistency. It leaves a sort of "film" on the skin that acts as a protective barrier all day. Don't let this put you off, though - in fact,  I have never even noticed any sign of a film on my skin, it feels like it sinks completely in, and it certainly doesn't clog your pores. It feels light and moisturising on the skin, and is non-greasy too so my skin doesn't turn oily.

The 30ml bottle is lovely and luxurious, feeling sturdy and looking great on your nightstand. It also lasts for a long time, with only one pump needed to cover the face and neck. At £29.50, this serum isn't cheap, but in my opinion it is worth it to give your skin a boost with minimum makeup required.

  1. Lovely to see you back, I've also just written my first post in a long while after a uni-related hiatus :)
This product looks fab! I want to incorporate a serum into my routine and as I've just tried my first Vichy product and love it, I'm definitely going to have a look into this xxx
