Weight Loss Wednesday: The Beginning!

My new series is here! In a bid to log my weight loss and hopefully gain support and motivate others, I will be writing about the progress from my weight loss regime every Wednesday! So, let's talk about my situation...

I am not a large person, nor have I ever been a large person. However, I have never really had a flat stomach and am not massively toned; I think I could roughly aim to lose a stone and a half, perhaps two at the absolute maximum, but I'll just play it by ear. The aim of my weight loss regime will be to become slimmer, more toned, healthier and hopefully have more energy! By no means do I intend to achieve this by pushing myself too far or eating practically nothing; I know that heathy weight loss is slow and takes work.

I have always struggled with nutritional values and choosing the right food. Therefore, I have found that the points system works well for me by calculating the nutritional values of food which produces a points value. I then only eat a certain number of points per day; in my case, it is 26 points. This is the system that Weight Watchers uses, but I use an app on my phone called Ultimate Value Diary which is exactly the same. With this, I aim to lose just over one pound per week, whilst still allowing myself to eat some treats in moderation!

My main method of weight loss will be eating healthily, and I will use exercise to give my health and energy levels a boost. I am unable to do high impact exercise because of an illness I have and so I will mostly go for walks or even use my Wii to play dancing games.

Each Wednesday, I will tell you how much weight I have lost, what I ate, how I exercised, and how I found that week. I will also tell you how I'm feeling and whether I've noticed any changes, including pictures of my (hopefully) changing body. Any tips or tricks I find along the way I will also post and Tweet about.

I would love to hear about your weight loss and fitness! Please follow me on Twitter, where I will give you more regular weight loss info, and also follow me on Bloglovin'!

  1. Good luck with it! I'm the same as you. Not big, but because I'm small, I find every little thing shows. I'm currently doing a Maxitone programme to try and tone up :) xx

  2. Can't wait to see your progress! The health related apps I use are mapmyrun (great for tracking your walks, runs, etc.) and myfitnesspal for calorie tracking.

I grew up being really skinny and able to eat whatever I wanted but ever since graduating highschool in 2008, my metabolism went downhill and I've put on quite a bit of weight. :( I'm always looking for motivation and healthy options, so I'm excited to see how you do and can learn from you also :)
