Summer Edit: Skin and Body Care Routine

I started my Summer Edit series with the perfect handbags (here), but I thought I'd now get back on the topic of beauty and talk about my best skincare picks, for both face and body, for summer.

First off, I still use all the skincare products as listed in my most recent Skin Care Routine post (here) but of course in the summer it's all about the SPF and UVA/UVB protection! It is also super important to remember to wear sunglasses and a sun hat which also protect your skin by blocking the harmful rays.

The Vitamin E Radiance Eye Cream with SPF15 from Superdrug is my go-to eye cream in the summer. Not only does it contain sun protection, it is also light and creamy and does not irritate my sensitive skin. A tube of this cream costs only £2.99 so it is a really worthwhile purchase.

In place of my normal moisturiser, I use the Garnier Moisture Match Lotion for Normal Skin (review here) in the summer, as it contains SPF20 and also illuminates the skin, making it perfect for those no-makeup days! It only costs £5.99, so it is another inexpensive purchase which is worth the money.

I always change my sun lotion, but at the moment I am using the Garnier Light and Silky Lotion with SPF30 on my body. It works well, but to be honest it is a pretty unremarkable product; it does its' job, and that's as excited as I can get about it. It is also worth mentioning that there are loads of specific sun protection products for the face out there, but as I always change mine, I won't mention any specifically.

It is super important to keep your body looking hydrated in the summer, for which I have loads of great products (other than drinking tons of water, of course!) After using my Nivea In Shower Body Moisturiser (review here) and applying sun lotion, I love a spritz of Garnier Ultimate Beauty Oil (review here) to make my legs look lovely and smooth and supple. Throughout the day, I always use Avène Thermal Spring Water (review here) to refresh the skin and prevent irritation. Perfect!

After a long day in the sun, I love taking a shower and slathering a nice After Sun in to my skin. I normally just use whatever takes my fancy (usually something cooling, with Aloe Vera), but at the moment I really love the Lancaster Tan Maximiser that I got in the Selfridges Summer Box (see here). It is lovely and light, and soothes the skin whilst prolonging your tan.

What products do you love for the summer? I love finding new ones! Please follow on GFC and Bloglovin'.

  1. I've heard the Superdrug Vitamin E range are really good. I LOVE that it contains SPF, and I love that it works on sensitive skin. I also love the look/sound of the new Nivea in-shower moisturiser. I can't wait to try it :) x

    1. It is a really good range, especially for the price! I'm very impressed with it. And I have done a full review on the Nivea product if you want to read more about it :-) I would definitely recommend it x

  2. Use of Body Care products is now becoming essential due to an excessive use of junk food. Junk food doesn't give the body it's required minerals and products made with natural ingredients are the safest and they fulfill body's requirements.
